Bohohohored.

Between the whole Christmas and New Year holiday extravaganza, I decided not to use up my VL days and went to work here in Alabang anyways, knowing I had a snowball's chance in hell of getting anything done. Well anyway, here are random bits and pieces of whatever's going on.

Take the quiz!

Peyton, huh? I guess she IS the character I can relate to the most. I mean, I'm not Haley - too wholesome - and I certainly am not Brooke - too perky. God I wish I could draw like Peyton, though.

Take the quiz!

Note-worthy lyrics: Everybody thinks you're well/ Everybody thinks I'm ill/ Watching me fall apart/ Falling under your spell. My OTH song represents WAY too much drama though. So I cheated, and got this instead:

Take the quiz!

Another round of good lyrics: Where are you now/ As I'm swimming through the stereo/ I'm writing you a symphony of sound/ Where are you now/ As I rearrange the songs again/ This mix could burn a hole in anyone/ But it was you I was thinking of. La la la la la. I don't really know these two songs. Checked them out at DanceAge (see Linkies.) Pretty good.

Take the quiz!

I miss being excited to watch One Tree Hill. Ever since I got DVDs for seasons one to three, I don't really watch it on TV anymore. The DVDs I stopped watching mid-season two. Damn you House. Damn you Chase. Damn you Meredith. Stupid addictive medical dramas.

Meanwhile the past two nights, Marci and Hannah have been sleeping at our apartment over at Pilar. (My regular housemates are out for the holiday season.) You'd think, us being all girls, we'd be doing girly sleepover stuff. Pillow fights, running around in underwear, lesbian threesomes. You'd think.

Hold on to your shorts. We played Smash Brothers - or, at least, I smashed the brother out of Marci. We pigged out. Kampai-d. Read FHM and Maxim before going to sleep. None of the girly stuff, because while technically we are all girls, Marci and I are still disputing this. All in all it was a very wholesome and enjoyable two nights.

Read somewhere that the most common birthday in the United States is October 5. That's nine months after New Year's Eve.

(Insert filthy remark alluding to New Year and putukan here.)

Maligayang Bagong Taon sa ating lahat!

Mystery Guy

There was this person who was messaging me via YM SMS about a month ago... he wasn't on my contacts list, and a Google and Friendster search of his Yahoo! ID proved to be fruitless. It had the name "edwrd" in it so I'm assuming he's a guy, but otherwise I have no idea who he is, or why he was being so damn polite.

Text message: Hi, I just wanted to say hello. Sorry for bothering you.

I think I answered somewhere along the lines of "Huh?" and got the following reply.

Text message: I accidently ran into your blog, and just wanted to say that you do have really pretty eyes.....I know that sounds corny.....anyway, take care. Good l

End of message. Stupid YM didn't send the rest. And I really wanted to hear more about my pretty eyes, too.

Anyway I don't know if you were being nice, friendly, patronizing, sarcastic, or just bored, but in any case if you're still reading my blog, I have just one question: are you drugs?

Yep, that's all.

Christmas 2K6

Back from holiday hiatus. Was supposed to treat Jp and Miko to a free dinner last Friday, but unfortunately, they weren't available. Zannen desu ne. Wala nang ulitan.

The early hours of Christmas Eve found me drinking a free grande caramel macchiato in Libis. Sabay yosi. Panalo. Salamat men.

Intermission number: carolers singing outside the house on Christmas Eve
Kids: "Ang Pasko ay sumapit..."
Utoy: "No more moneeeeeeeeeeey!!!"

Galit na galit pa talaga sya e. Wahahahaha XD. Asyon had to call the carolers back to give them their money. Anyways, spent Christmas day with - surprise! - the family, meaning Asyon, Jason, Dek, EJ and Utoy. Attended mass in the morning at the Antipolo Cathedral, then spent the rest of the day pigging out at home. Other people have It's a Wonderful Life to watch on Christmas - I, on the other hand, have Love Actually. I know, I know - it's Christmas, the most wholesome holiday of holidays, and Love Actually is actually kinda R-18... but still. Watched it twice. Did the same thing last year. I never get tired of that movie. Too many British cuties and hopelessly cheesy lines that I fall for every damn time.

Yesterday, blew most of my bonus on shameless self-indulgence - hair treatment and new glasses. I really needed them, though. Pramis.

Today I'm back in the office, blogging yet again instead of learning how relationships work in reverse engineering Visual C++ 7.0 code using Visio 2003. God I have an exciting job.

Anyway, should really get back to it. The UML diagrams won't generate themselves, you know.

THERE'S THE RUB
Believe it or not

By Conrado de Quiros
Inquirer
Last updated 09:33pm (Mla time) 12/20/2006

Published on Page A12 of the December 21, 2006 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer

WE HAVE a situation today that is truly one for the books. We have a situation today that knocks at the door of Ripley's "Believe It Or Not." That situation is: Come January next year, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will be the longest-serving president in this country since 1986.

GMA will have occupied Malacañang longer than Corazon Aquino, the Filipino leader who was loved apart from respected, at least by the elite and middle class and by the foreign community, until her rule wore on. But notwithstanding the criticism against her, which became strident toward the end of her term, particularly on the issues of corruption and human rights (vigilantes, anti-communist cults, paramilitary groups), she could have gotten a second term if she wanted it. Easiest thing in this country to bend the law to suit clamor, and there was a strong residual clamor for her. It is to her everlasting credit that she willingly stepped down, thereby ending, as she began, on a high moral note.

GMA will have occupied Malacañang longer than Fidel Ramos, the president who oversaw the salad days of post-Edsa Philippine economy. Much of it of course was by luck, though he or his propagandists made it out to be by his genius. It was the heyday of Triumphant Capitalism after the fall of the communist world, given graphic form by the very literal fall of the Berlin Wall, and the Philippines was caught up in the economic boom that rippled across the world in its wake. Until the 1997 financial crisis came to burst its bubble and reduce to tatters the flag of unbridled laissez-faire. Whatever hopes Ramos might have had of staying on--he contemplated amending the Constitution too to allow him to run again--were razed to rubble by the tectonic financial upheaval.

And GMA will have occupied Malacañang longer than Joseph Estrada, arguably the most popular postwar president this country ever had. Probably more than Ramon Magsaysay. Short of not counting the votes at all, Joe de Venecia could never have beaten Erap--so overwhelming was his lead. Indeed short of not having elections (at large) at all, Joe de V can never beat anyone, which has driven him to embark on Cha-cha as though the devil was flailing at his back. Which it is.

Erap's rule was short-lived through his own fault. I do not know what might have happened if he had only half lived up to his vow of being "Erap para sa mahirap (Estrada for the masses)." But he turned out to be more "Erap parusa sa mahirap (Estrada punishment for the masses)," courtesy of a cabal of hoodlums dedicated to ripping off this country. I recall that that was a time when I could not imagine how much lower this country could sink. It seemed like the utter pits, the end of the line, rock bottom. I did not figure on his successor.

But that is not what makes our situation one for the books. That is not what makes our situation an entry in Ripley's "Believe it Or Not." What does is this: Come January next year, GMA will be the longest occupier of Malacañang--"longest-serving president" is correct only in "longest"--and she was never voted into office.

She came to power the first time around by the very route she, or her truly appropriate alter ego (if only because of sheer ugliness), Raul Gonzalez, now wants to stamp off the face of the earth: People Power. She clung to power after May 2004 by calling up Garci and demanding to win by a million votes over FPJ, which she did. Either way--though the first is legitimate while the second is not--she was never voted president of this country.

There's more for Ripley: Come January next year, GMA will have been the longest occupant of Malacañang since 1986 despite being neither loved nor respected. Indeed, despite being reviled and ridiculed. Forget the surveys that show that. Mind only that neither Cory nor Ramos nor Erap was ever heckled by a student while addressing a graduating class. No, not even Erap despite his English. Indeed, GMA was stressing the importance of English when it happened, which only shows that there's more to communication than a facility in that language.

Come January next year, GMA will have been the longest occupant of Malacañang since 1986 despite overseeing only the biggest exodus of Filipinos abroad. As of the last survey, fully a third of the population wants to leave this country--which probably indicates only the number of Filipinos with the means to do it. If you count those without means but would like to, you would probably be counting nearly the entire population. With good reason: The dawning of the 21st century, which was largely GMA's term, has also been the sinking of many Filipinos into the twilight of hunger. Literally. For the first time in decades, hunger is spreading throughout the land with only the OFW billions to slow it down.

Come January next year, GMA will be the longest occupant of Malacañang without Erap's charm or roguishness. Indeed, with an approval rating that is inversely proportional to Erap's popularity. No other Filipino leader has drawn such popular anger and distrust, consternation and disgust.

Indeed, come January next year, GMA will be the longest occupant of Malacañang despite: turning lying and cheating into acceptable behavior, or one worthy of emulation, which some nurses have tried to emulate, as witness their conduct in their last licensure exams; turning murder and mayhem into national policy, as witness the alarming number of political activists and journalists in the provinces who have been gunned down, but which seems to be alarming only the global community and not the national one; returning the country back to the arms of dictatorship, even the thugs in Congress now want to impose their will on the people, who the hell cares if they like it or not. Despite all this, or maybe because of all this.

Believe it or not.

---------------------------------------------------

It's a daily habit I got from Sweet. I always love reading There's The Rub, Conrado de Quiros's column over at the Inquirer. Today he gives a succinct history of Philippine politics in recent times. Anyhow he's been especially eloquent the last few months, expressing his, hmm, distaste (to put it mildly) for the current precidency. And honestly speaking, I'm not too happy about it either.

Maybe I haven't been watching the news enough, but I didn't know that too many journalists and activists are being murdered lately, on a scale that rivals the pre-Martial Law days. And the good news is, in the Philippines, it's not even a big deal. Everywhere else has been treating it like the unlawful, inhuman, goddamned situation that it is. But not here. And there's the rub.

Anyway, proxy server's been acting up again and I can't answer Abby's comment. Hehe. I'm not funny. It just so happened that the people around me are funny. :)

Ang downer ba ng post ko today? I dunno. Christmas season e. Equal parts happy and depressing. As it should be, whatever the hell that means.

Mr. Wash Day

Been in Alabang for more than a month now, training for the Konica Minolta project which starts next year. There are two of us in the team - there's me, and there's my project leader, who incidentally was my batchmate in college. That fact made it easy for me to abuse him almost immediately. Hey, maybe you know him: http://www.friendster.com/aldytipoe.

Anyway for some reason I never saw him around school, even though we shared a building for four years (Faura Hall). Maybe he was one of the CS guys we displaced when we took over Faura driveway. Anyway I was bored with writing our RTOS deliverable... so now I'm writing about his nose pimple. Early this morning he turned to me:

Aldy: (ecstatically) "Grabe akala ko magkaka-crater ako sa ilong ko kase ginalaw ko yung scab ng pimple ko, buti na lang wala!"
Me: "SCAB AMP!" (laughs hysterically)

Wahahahaha :) Langib, Aldy, the Tagalog term is langib. Aldy won the Mr. Make Tusok-Tusok the Fishball Award last year at the company Christmas party, and this year he again won the Mr. Wash Day award. Lakas pumorma pag Friday e. Normally I'd write him off as a typical coniow from the Arteneow, but seeing as he's my immediate superior, I guess I'd have to change my opinion.

Pffft. Can't. Aldy is a conio's conio. The good kind, though, not the airhead type. Halimaw yan sa Java e.

On a different note (no pun intended), Mom has been making Utoy watch The Sound of Music the past few days, making him sing "Do-Re-Mi" and "So Long, Farewell", in hopes that Utoy will become musically inclined.

Musically gay, Mom, the term is musically gay.

Updated my Friendster blog - http://japz20.blogs.friendster.com/on_hanging_out_moving_on_/ - and rehashed the previous post. It turned out better actually, because I can actually post pictures in my Friendster blog. Well anyway. The link's in the side bar if you wanna check it out. XD

Love Actually

"General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. Seems to me that love is everywhere.

Igniting laughter, wreaking havoc, breaking hearts, daring commitments, forcing choices, catapulting spirits, forging inroads, creating risks - ecstatic, exciting, unexpected, unwelcome, inconvenient, inexplicable, inelegant, unequalled.

Love actually is all around."

I never get tired of Love Actually. Anyway yeah, I know I already posted this Christmas time last year. But I still love reading it, and hey, whaddya know, it's Christmas again. So go on, read it. You know you want to.

With any luck by next year
I'll be going out with one of these girls.
(shows collage of pretty celebrities)
But for now, let me say
Without hope or agenda
Just because it's Christmas
(And at Christmas you tell the truth)
To me, you are perfect
And my wasted heart will love you
Until you look like this
(shows a picture of a disintegrating mummy)
Merry Christmas.

- Mark to Juliet, "Love Actually"

Eto picture o: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/japz20/loveactually.jpg. Siiiiiigh. One week til Christmas.

Sun's Day

Spent the wee hours of yesterday morning watching episode upon episode of Grey's Anatomy (thanks, Rommel). Started with the very first episode. I think I watched eight. (Marci still gets the medal for DVD marathons though - she watched One Tree Hill season one in, oh, 18 hours with only one hour-long break. Well anyway.) Hmm... Grey's Anatomy. First off, weird title. Aside from that, it's totally watchable - Isiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey, in my opinion, are BOTH McDreamy's - and there's enough drama to keep you waiting for the next episode. It's not at the top of my TV Shows To Watch list, though. (Sorry Dulce.) Or maybe I haven't watched enough yet. But it's definitely there.

Spent the rest of the Sunday at Megamall with my mom, brother, sister-in-law, and my two nephews. It was Utoy's first time at Megamall, and in all fairness he was totally well-behaved. Even when we went to Toy Kingdom and his eyes were almost popping out of their sockets. He'd never seen so much toys in his life. Told him I was going to buy him a Barbie, and realized the testosterone already kicked in when he answered, "Nooo, that's for girls." Anyway blew my Sodexho gift certificates on Christmas gifts for Utoy (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/japz20/Utoy/19962967338556l.jpg) and EJ (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/japz20/Utoy/345271615l.jpg). Kudos to my brother and sister for producing such fine little monsters.

Speaking of siblings, Marie the Utoy Clone is coming home in January after two and a half year's stay at Dubai. In March she's going to have another spawn. I can't wait to see hoy Utoy's going to torture his little brother/sister. Exciting.

For the ride to the mall I brought along Neil Gaiman's "American Gods", katas ng Kris Kringle namin sa AWS. Been reading it for almost a week. It's pretty good. I'm a sucker for mythology, and this one's got Norse, Irish, Egyptian, the works (although no mention of the Greek pantheon.) If you read it really closely, you'll even see a Delirium cameo in the middle of the book. Haven't finished it yet though, maybe tonight or tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for a nice ending, despite Kabo's comment that it's the worst Gaiman novel he ever read. I really don't know what to make of that. Kabo hates everything. Except for that "tsukurimashou" anime, anyway.

Dami nang fillers! Mamaya na ulit.

Missing You

Everytime I think of you
I always catch my breath
I'm still standing here
And you're miles away
And I wonder why you left me
And there's a storm that's raging
Through my frozen heart tonight

I hear your name in certain circles
And it always makes me smile
I spent my time just thinkin about you
And its almost driving me wild

But its my heart thats breakin'
Down this long distance line tonight

And I ain't missin' you at all
Since you've been gone away
I ain't missin' you
No matter what I might say

There's a message in the wires
And I am sendin' you a signal tonight
You don't know how desperate I've become
And It looks like I'm losin' this fight

But it's my heart that's breakin'
Down this long dusty road of mine

But I ain't missin' you at all
Since you've been gone away
I aint missin' you at
No matter what my friends say

And there's a message that I'm sendin' out
Like a telegraph to your soul
I can't bridge this distance
Stop this heart ache overload

I ain't missin' you at all
Since you've been gone away
I ain't missin' you
No matter what my friends say
I ain't missin' you
Since you've been gone away
I ain't missin' you
Yeah, no matter what your friends say

I ain't missin you at all
Since you've been gone... Away
I ain't missin' you

Stupid Blogger.

For some reason, even after I changed my blog's template, the sidebar still stubbornly shows up at the bottom of the page. To remedy that, I have to create new posts so that the old posts (which cause the misaligned sidebar) will fade into the archives page. Wow that was boring.

And let the fillers begin.

Sino ba nagpauso non?

So apparently our network administrator has busted my proxy server - again - so I can\'t make comments on blogs at the moment. Can I just say, though? MIKE LIVES!!! Update naman sa blog mo! XD

So. Anyway. Went with some officemates to a Gawad Kalinga site at Taguig last Saturday, and I bet you can finish the story. No? Okay. We were there for an office outreach thing, the whole shebang - show up out of the goodness of your hearts, build some houses, make friends with the poor - AND I TOTALLY SCREWED IT UP. I mean, yeah, we helped some, but for the life of me I COULD NOT STOP MYSELF FROM SAYING SKWATER. No matter how hard I tried. And I\'m pretty sure they heard me too.

Kill me. Now.

Lesson Learned

Today I learned that unfortunately, reverse psychology does not work on inferior minds. That's for you, guy who professes to missing me as an attempt to defend his wholly unfair affairs.

Oh, and also, C++ sucks balls.

One Tree Hill

was it that hard
to give me away
are you that easily persuaded
by a memory that's faded
like a card
left out in the rain
and tears will fall like ink right off the page

tell me can you sleep at night
knowing I'm awake
when you turn out the light
did you think that I was gonna be alright
kicked out of your life
now tell me can you sleep at night

do you think of me
when you're with her
is she filling all the blanks in
til the temporary space is empty again
just like you are
and now you'll have to smile and just pretend

so tell me can you sleep at night
knowing I'm awake
when you turn out the light
did you think that I was gona be alright
pushed out of your life
and tell me can you sleep

but all this time we've wasted
you were all I thought about
and this bitter pill I'm tasting
well its time to spit it out
oh no, no, no

tell me can you sleep at night
knowing I'm awake
when you turn out the light
did you think that I was gonna be alright
shut out of your life
tell me can you sleep
tell me can you sleep at night.

- Courtney Jaye, "Can You Sleep"

Whoa. One Tree Hill loser song ulit. Dumadami. Promise maganda.

Sorry konti lang post. Busy (-busyhan) sa trabaho.

stumbleupon.com

I realized a few days ago that my view of the Internet is... limited, to say the least. I go wherever the good gods (or Google) take me. Thankfully, IC hooked me up with http://www.StumbleUpon.com, a site which lets you surf through the most amazing sites, depending on your interests. Nakaka-addict sobra.

Since I started, I've discovered a site where you can watch your favorite TV shows (yeah I know there's YouTube for that but my office blocks that), a page with nothing but weird facts and stories collected from around the world, a blog bashing media whores like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, and a ton more. Anyway, today I stumbled upon "Movie-A-Minute", where some guys make ultra-condensed versions of movies. Funny. :-) Here are some examples.

Sleepless In Seattle
Directed by Nora Ephron
1993
Ultra-Condensed by Thomas Deeny

Meg Ryan
I shall find out all I can about Tom Hanks and stalk him.

Tom Hanks
Your plan worked. I love you.

THE END

Titanic
Directed by James Cameron
1997
Ultra-Condensed by Samuel Stoddard

Leonardo DiCaprio
Your social class is stuffy. Let's dance with the ship's rats and have fun.

Kate Winslet
You have captured my heart. Let's run around the ship and giggle.
(The ship SINKS.)

Leonardo DiCaprio
Never let go.

Kate Winslet
I promise.

(Lets go.)

THE END

Batman and Robin
Directed by Joel Schumacher
1997
Ultra-Condensed by Jim Kirkby

Arnold Schwarzenegger
Ice to meet you.

Producers
We may have created the worst movie in history.

THE END

O tama na basa ng blog. Stumble na!

Simple Algebra

jMe: 0.999… is the same as 1. Not just very close, but precisely identical:
a = 0.999…
10a = 9.999…
10a - a = 9.999… - 0.999…
9a = 9
a = 1
There's no trick here. It's just a mathematical fact that most people find deeply counterintuitive.

OOP

It just occurred to me that C++ programming teachers shouldn't get so pissed off when students try to copy off of each other's programming assignments. Case in point: Noel Patron, my highly colorful CE 21: Introduction to Computing professor.

Patron: "Do some thinking. Exert some effort. Napipikon na 'ko." (proceeds to pound desk in a fit of rage)

Patron: "So eto na yung rules on copying programs, para next time na mangopya kayo hindi na ganon ka-obvious..." (gives his tips)

Nice guy. Kinda sarcastic though. He was my first class ever in college, and he didn't bother to show up. An anticlimactic first day at Ateneo was what I had. Thanks for the memories, sir. Anyway, I digress.

So as I was saying, copying C++ programs shouldn't be such a crime. Next time your teacher says so, tell him you're just maximizing the benefits of object-oriented programming. Di ba? That'll shut him up.

Para sa mga malungkot.

You could be happy and I won't know
But you weren't happy the day I watched you go

And all the things that I wish I had not said
Are played in loops 'till it's madness in my head

Is it too late to remind you how we were
But not our last days of silence, screaming, blur

Most of what I remember makes me sure
I should have stopped you from walking out the door

You could be happy, I hope you are
You made me happier than I'd been by far

Somehow everything I own smells of you
And for the tiniest moment it's all not true

Do the things that you always wanted to
Without me there to hold you back, don't think, just do

More than anything I want to see you go
Take a glorious bite out of the whole world

- Snow Patrol, "You Could Be Happy"

The Top Ten Impressions Jamie Gets From People

10. Mukha akong may nightlife. O di ba anlabo. My officemate Marci asked me if I went to bars, and when I asked why, she replied with this statement.

9. Mukha akong vocalist. Favorite impression ko 'to! No joke, napagkakamalan talaga 'ko. At least three people have already told me this. The first person was Pablo Neruda Singzon's friend from Ateneo rin. Our introduction basically went like this:
Guy: "Di ba may banda ka?"
Me: "Uuh... oo."
Guy: "Ikaw yung vocalist di ba?"
Me: "Hinde."
Napaisip talaga 'ko ba't alam nyang may banda 'ko e. And to think we weren't even in a bar somewhere. I was all dolled up at the Peninsula Manila for a friend's debut. I think I was mistaken for the Narda frontman (woman?), solely because we belonged to the same batch.
Anyway the second time I became a vocalist was while waiting for a rehearsal studio to free up somewhere in Cubao. Tin and I were smoking, and this random girl struck up a conversation with us. I remember I was wearing a black top and my raggediest jeans (complete with the obligatory hole at the knee), and then, yeah, she asked if I was the vocalist. Strike two. Maybe it was the wardrobe that time.
The third time was the other day, after recounting the previous stories to my officemates at Makati.
Mitzi: "Oo nga no, mukha ka ngang vocalist."
Me: "Baket?!?"
Mitzi: "Kase di ba mga vocalist maraming boylets."
Hah. I wish. Maybe she meant marami akong GUSTONG maging boylets. Hahaha. Anyway all three times I was mistaken for a vocalist, I was kinda flattered. Well, wouldn't you be? EVERYBODY wants to be a frickin' vocalist! Hah.

8. Hindi Assumptionista. I already blogged about this. People are politely surprised when I tell them I graduated from Assumption Antipolo. From where I'm standing, that's a good thing, I guess. I don't want to be someone people think habitually make tusok-tusok the fucking fishball.

7. Hindi 24. Sarap naman. It kills me that I'm already in my mid-20's, although being mistaken as someone younger is a pretty good compensation. One time, Tin, Dawn, and me were buying stuff for drinking at the Town and Country grocery, and the cashier short of asked us to show some ID. Stig.

6. Tibo. Hmm. I can't imagine why. The smoking thing? O siguro kase pogi ako. Haha.

5. Galit. I actually had someone at the Makati office, Kiks, remind me not to frown so much so early in the morning. I dunno. Lagi nya 'kong nahuhuling nakakunot ang noo saka nakasimangot (not a conscious effort) sa harap ng PC ko. Good thing he doesn't take it personally. Tuwing umaga kase I make it a habit to read the news at inq7.net, and I guess the news just piss me off so I look angry. Tanginang gobyerno naman kase yan.

4. Mataray at suplada. Lana told me his friend Daniel said I looked, yeah, snobbish (what a word) when he first met me one night at the s2dio. Hannah (partner ni Daniel the DandyMan) told me so too after our first week of training at ADTX. I could tell she meant it too because she was kinda hesitant to tell me in the first place, complete with "Jamie wag kang magagalit a... pero akala ko talaga mataray ka." Parang natatakot pa syang matarayan ko. As everybody knows I'm very easy to get along with... just as long as you don't piss me off by being too much of an ass.

3. Mukha akong Jamie. Some random person actually told me this upon our introduction, and I didn't know how to react. The name Jamie is actually derived from Jacob meaning "supplanter," which sucks if you know what it means, but on the other hand I'm in great company. I was born on July 25th, the feast of St. James, as was James Lafferty, better known as Nathan Scott. O di ba, MFEO. Anyway, all I can say about the "mukha kang Jamie" comment... good job at naming me, Mom and Dad! For all I know they took one look at me after I was born and said the same thing.

2. Sabog. Well duh. Kailangan pa ba talagang i-explain 'to?

1. Malungkot. At least everyone I know has told me this. I will explain yet again: GANITO NA 'KO PINANGANAK. Congenital. So don't hold it against me. Pag may nakita ka bang pilay sasabihan mo sya palaging pilay sya? Di ba hinde?

Grabe haba ng post. Bored sa Alabang.

Sir Nep I hope you're reading this.

Lunch time at Valero side with Sir Nep, Valerie, Mitzi, Marge, Lany, and Sel
Girls: "Sir bakit dito ka kumakain, ayaw mong samahan yung batch 8?"
Jamie: "Bakit sir, wala bang Val sa kanila?" (hot kase si Val)
Sir Nep: (pula) "Grabe to, harap-harapan..."

Bakit kaya... Sir we miss you!!! Hahaha :) By the way Jp, Val's a girl.

Grey's Anatomy

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
- Snow Patrol, "Chasing Cars." Gandang kanta. Pang-steady lang na sounds. Favorite lyrics?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old

Tama e. And I'm feeling particularly sensitive about my age lately. Hmm. Anyway it seems everyone I know is watching Grey's Anatomy but me. Ma-check out nga.

Although, I have to say that having a proper salary is proving to be very hard to manage. I've already bought DVDs of OTH (seasons one to three) and House (seasons one and two) and have only finished OTH season one so far. Haha.

Next on the must-buy list: gitara.

Watching House at the Mansion

Jamie: (pointing to the lawyer character) "Yan yung nasa Titanic a, si Fabriccio!"
Rommel: "Onga no!"
Jamie: "Kilala mo si Fabriccio?!?"
Rommel: (bawi agad) "Hinde a!"

Ok lang naman na kilala mo si Fabriccio e... if you're a girl. If you're a guy, that's just plain weird.

jMe: ano???

Tinanong ko sya after kung ano yung ibig sabihin nung Jollibee "proverb" nya.
Marge: "Wala akong maisip na rhyme e..."

O di ba panalo talaga si Marge.

Action Batch 8 Opening

Sir Nep: "Sir Jay, may food na po. Others can follow."

Sel: "Others na lang tayo... parang wala tayong pinagsamahan a."

I'm feeling slightly less special today, as the new batch of trainees entered AWS today. Dammit.

Anyway, I feel better when I think of the hell they got themselves into. Five months of intensive - and I mean intensive - training is sure to wipe that self-satisfied, "I'm-so-smart-I-got-in-at-AWS-while-a-thousand-others-didn't" smirks off their faces in no time. Haha.

Gambatte ne.

Si Marge ang kulit.

Marge, Sel, and Jamie: "Let's... Volt... In!!!"
(They volt in.)
Sel: "Kaya lang tatlo lang tayo, dapat lima."
Marge: (seryoso) "Lima ba yung Voltes V?"

The Professional Blogger

Sir Nep, my fabulous ex-trainer, tipped me off with this - http://philiptheproblogger.blogspot.com/ - a totally hilarious blog made by a fellow AWS engineer and ex-Action trainee. Mitzi and I were laughing our asses of this morning reading his posts about being a fat ninja ("So there I was on the sidewalk, on my knees, breathing hard, with tears rolling down my cheeks, reminiscing the time when getting off a jeepney was a breeze. I was like a ninja back then... Now, this is what I am reduced to -- a fat ninja. I cry every night, because it's very lonely and I am fat. I am a lonely fat guy.") and Constitutional rights ("We Filipino's need fun, but it should be disciplined fun. We should know the difference between our heads and our asses. I dont know what that means... maybe it has something to do with wiping.") Considering he just started blogging last month, he's pretty good. Almost CaffeineRush-good. I'm sure you have time for a few laughs between chatting on YM and pretending to work. Go read.

Not-so-freaky Friday

Had a short dinner with some admuECEzerofive peeps
last Friday at Big Buddha Greenbelt. "Short" meaning
we were outta there by 10:30 pm and on our respective
ways home. Fuck we're getting old. Was raring to go
home anyway, stupid menstrual cramps. Anyway some
highlights:

- Dulce taking photos with her new Camon Ixy.
- Neil washing his hands about the whole "Camon"
hirit.
- Mike telling his favorite Kabo story. ("Fucking
moron.")
- Martin being featured in a Globe print ad... and the
succeeding TV offer. (Artistahin e.)
- Jp telling the Mike-Cinco best friends story for the
umpteenth time. (Mike: "PU-ta!")
- Ammy proving once again who really is boss by
forcing Jp to apologize. (Jp: "Sorry na...")

Hehe. Quotable quote muna:

Picture of Kups1 with unknown girl
Me: "Sino 'to? Hindi 'to yung girlfriend mo a!"
Kups1: (without missing a beat) "Chicks ko sa office."

Benta pa rin sa 'kin. Haha. Sorry, mga dalawang tao
lang ata makakagets nito. Anyway eto pa, from YM
today:

Me: first day ko e
Me: bad trip
Kups2: ahhh, kaya pala continuation ng pms
Me: gagu

Tas biglang hihingi
ng favor! Sabi ko na e! Hahaha. Joke lang Kups2.
Walang smiley yan a.

Forgot to wish the ECE board takers good luck! Ic gagu
ka ka-chat kita nung friday di mo sinabi. Haha. Anyway
God bless.

yung pics. Sometime in the next month sana. Yung
swimming pics nung April wala pa rin akong kopya nun
a!

So yun lang. Labo no. Aral muna. Comments: Mike,
magresearch ka na lang kaya about hard disks or
whatever. Ya bum. Blog nang blog. Dulce, ikaw din.
Hehe. Til next. :)

Kulit ng mga Ichiban Urusai Kenshuusei

The Batch 7 Olympic-Style Torch - tissue roll at the
end of a paper staff

Val: "Habulin mo 'ko."

Thursday

Shit I feel sick.

Tried puking in the ladies' room. No such luck. Too
much information? Too bad.

I'm chalking it up to lack of sleep. Had an OTH (One
Taylor Hanson? haha) marathon last night til 1230. For
some reason I still insist on sleeping late even if I
have to wake up early for work the next day. Wtf is
wrong with me.

Next week will have to start actual work. In the
Alabang office. For two months. Alabang's great. Pain
in the ass to stay there, though. Have to pay for
everything - house, food, transpo - and here I am
content on FX fare as my only expense in Makati.
Dammit. Note to self: ask boss if I can apply for
housing allowance. P.S.: Don't get hopes up.

Been hearing that stupid duet revival of "It's All
Coming Back to Me" on the stupid radio. The fuck. Who
the hell was responsible for that brilliant idea? The
guy sounded like Meatloaf, and the girl like another
washed-up 80s diva (like Meatloaf.) Turns out the guy
WAS Meatloaf, and the girl was one of those M2M Barbie
dolls. Ick. La lang.

Tomorrow my ECE batchmates are having a sort-of
get-together dinner thing at Buddha Greenbelt. Asked
Sweetness to do the inviting this time because when I
do it, I tend to forget lots of people and they tend
to hate me. (Sweet, for example. Haha.) Anyway, lots
of catching up to do. Haven't seen each other since
our stint of impersonating frustrated singers at Music
21. That was more than a month ago.

Well anyway. Comments. Dulce, hindi ko gets yung
comment mo.
Haha. Mike, isusumbong kita
sa boss mo at nagbabasa ka ng blog at 7 o'clock in the
morning. Martin, enough with the missed calls. ("Bat
mo nireject? Walang bayad kahit sagutin mo.")

By the way, Marie told our mom that she's coming home
from Dubai on January on account of her being
pregnant. Actually, though, she's coming home earlier
and asked me to pick her up at the airport. Surprise,
Asyon. And not too soon: Utoy's been saying stuff like
"Utoy love mommy" without having any actual
recollection of her at all. Which is just plain weird.

That's all for today. It's already 5, and I want to
get the hell out of here. AdmuECEzerofive, Alabang
boys and girls, Marie: see you soon enough.

Funny

This one's for you, Jp.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/japz20/Nathan.jpg

Hahahahaha :)

Ang saya kausap ni Jp sa YM

(Gamit kong YM pic picture ni James Lafferty, a.k.a.
Nathan Scott)
jayps8: san mo nakuha pic ko na yan?
jMe: shet ang gwapo no
jMe: wala, online lang
jayps8: "shet ang gwapo no" gawin mo "shet ang gwapo
mo"
jMe: ulul!
jMe: haha
jayps8: ang gwapo ko talaga
jayps8: nagiging narcistic tuloy ako hahaha
jayps8: para akong nagsasalamin
jMe: narcissistic!
jMe: wahahahahaha
jayps8: alam ko hahaha

Kuleeeet.

Si Marge

Me: "Lany kuha kang tortang talong."
Lany: "Ayoko. I'm scared."
Marge: "Hindi ka kumakain ng talong? Masarap kaya
talong."

If it were anybody else, that would've sounded SOO
wrong.

Another personality test.

Took this from Amiel's blog. For some reason I really
like someone else telling me what my personality is.
Maybe I just love hearing other people talk about me.
Or maybe I don't know me. Either way here were the
results.

Extroversion results were moderately high (58%) which
suggests you are, at times, overly talkative,
outgoing, sociable and interacting at the expense of
developing your own individual interests and
internally based identity.

Orderliness results were medium (50%) which suggests
you are moderately organized, structured, and self
controlled while still remaining flexible, varied, and
fun.

Emotional Stability results were moderately low (42%)
which suggests you are worrying, insecure, emotional,
and anxious.

Accommodation results were medium (52%) which suggests
you are moderately kind natured, trusting, and helpful
while still maintaining your own interests.

Inquisitiveness results were medium (48%) which
suggests you are moderately intellectual, curious, and
imaginative.

Wtf I'm not an extrovert. And I already know I'm
emotionally unstable. Haha. Anyway almost everything
else is moderate. God I'm boring.

Wanna know yours? Eto:

Song Post 2,549,431

To make a mountain of your life
Is just a choice
But I never learned enough
To listen to the voice that told me
Always love? Hate will get you every time
Always love? Don't wait til the finish line

Slow demands come 'round
Squeeze the air and keep the rest out
It helps to write it down
Even when you then cross it out

But always love? Hate will get you every time
Always love? Even when you wanna fight

Self-directed lives
I want to know what it'd be like to
Aim so high above
Any card that you've been dealt, you...

Always love? Hate will get you every time
Always love? Hate will get you

I've been held back by something
Yeah, you said to me quietly on the stairs,
I've been held back by something
Yeah. You said to me quietly on the stairs.
You said?
Hey, you good ones.
Hey, you good ones.

To make a mountain of your life
Is just a choice
But I never learned enough
To listen to the voice that told me...
Always love? Hate will get you every time
Always love? Hate will get you

I've been held back by something
Yeah, You said to me quietly on the stairs,
I've been held back by something
Yeah, you said to me quietly on the stairs
You said..
Hey, you good ones
Hey, you good ones
Hey, you good ones

- Nada Surf, "Always Love"

Masabi lang na nag-post. Anyway heard this song on One
Tree Hill. Maganda. Totoo nga naman kasi - hate WILL
get you every time. Kaya ako, hindi na 'ko hater. Dati
oo. Ngayon hindi na. Totoo.

Birthday ni Dulce bukas. Wag kalimutan batiin.

Sweldo

Work is fucking overrated.

Today is my third day of actual work.

Accomplishments: none.
Websites visited: still counting.

Shit. I am so bored, nagpaka-Sweet ako at nagpunta sa
EOnline. And CNN.com. And this is my second post for
the day.

God. If this continues until next week, I'll be burnt
out before I'm 25. I know, I know - bitching about not
having anything to do at work is SOO tempting fate,
pero nasasabaw na talaga ang utak ko. Nabago ko na
yung avatar ko, I've revised my Friendster profile
countless times, smoked three Gudangs by 3 pm, eaten
three times by 4... aaaarrggghhh.

I need a break. Give me something to break.

This post does not have a happy ending. Or beginning.

The PhilNITS results came out yesterday. As expected,
I didn't pass. No excuses. Entirely my fault. Which
sucks ass. I knew getting that third place was a
fluke. Or a miscalculation, at the very least.

I went to Katipunan last night, planning to drown my
sorrows in pitchers of zombie at Tia Maria's after a
Chiggy's dinner, but alas, the gods were against
alcoholism on a Tuesday night. Chokey lang. May Friday
pa naman sa Alabang e. Post-grad party sa apartment.
Ihanda na ang bucket ni Daniel.

Anyway I really should get back to work. Abby, my
thing for QQs started with you. Thank you. :) Jp, san
na nga bang Solid Gwaps ngayon? Meron pa ba? Haha :)

Woohoo! Go Ateneo! Hahaha :)

O sya, I'll see you guys. Ki o tsukete ne. Ingats.

Quotable Quotes

Here they are. Quotable quotes accumulated over five
months of intensive training at ADTX. I don't know how
we managed to squeeze in this amount of quotable
quotes on top of everything else we were doing, but we
did. Enjoy.

ACTION BATCH 7 QUOTABLE QUOTES

Unfair!
Minami-sensei: "Aaw, that's life."

Trash Talk
Nico: "Di ba sa Ateneo at UP lang may MIS?"
Jamie: "Oo. Sa mga magagandang schools lang ata meron
nun e."

Humility
Minami-sensei: "Sono tokei, suteki desu ne." (Your
watch is nice.)
Piito-san: "Hai, suteki desu."
Minami-sensei: "Aay, be humble."

Nag-aayos si Jamie
Nico: "Wala naman si Honda-sensei a."
Ren: (out of nowhere) "Praktis."

Chismis
Ryan: "Yung mga nagdedeny daw, yun yung totoo."
Jamie: "Baket, di naman ako nagdedeny a."

After Ren and Kabo's 45-minute explanation of a PM
problem
Ren: "Questions, comments?"
Lany: "Mou ichido onegaishimasu." (One more time
please.)

First Mock PhilNITS Exam
Sir Brye: "Wag kayong mag-aaral tonight a."
Batch 7: "Kahit araw-araw sir."

Everybody's favorite kaiwa (conversation)
Hannah: "Oosakajo Kouen eki de aishimashoo." (Let's
make love at Osaka Castle Park station.)
Honda-sensei: "Ehh???"

Later
Lany: "Baka nag-aadvance reading si Hannah."

Much later

mong kasama."

Efficiency
Daniel: "Si Nico efficient. Napagsabay nya yung
pagbili ng chocolate saka pagde-date."

The Shukudai Group
Kataas-taasang Amiel
Propetang Jamie
Dalisay na Daniel
Friendship na Marci
Kabait-baitang Sir Nep
Kalive-ing Val
... plus Lany

Wala lang
Daniel: "Ano'ng rating mo kay Sir Ricky, from one to
ten?"
Jamie: "Mga 8."
Marci: "6 or 7."
Daniel. "E di 9 pala 'ko."

Swak
Daniel: "Nakakatakot kausap si Honda-sensei, parang
laging nanghaharrass."

Renshuu kaiwa using atarashii kotoba "nugimasu"
(Practice using new word "to undress")
Honda: "Don't worry, this is in byouin (hospital).
This is not kaisha (company), this is not kyoushitsu
(classroom), this is not Oosakajo Kouen."

Sorry I asked
Roda: "Sensei, donna kanojo ga hoshii desu ka?" (What
kind of girlfriend do you like?)
Honda-sensei: "Kirei na kanojo, soshite kawaii,
soshite sexy, soshite OOKII..." (Beautiful, cute,
sexy, and BIG.)

Sorry I asked, part two
Honda-sensei: "Watashi wa Jamie-san ni puresento o

Class: "Doushite?" (Why?)
Sensei: "Suki desu kara." (Because I like her.)
Class: "Doushite?" (Why?)

Sorry I asked, part three
Honda-sensei: "Anata wa nani o shitai desu ka?" (What
do you want to do?)
Nico: "Aishitai desu." (I want to [make] love.)
Honda-sensei: "Douzo. (Please.) Help yourself."

Nagpapakapossessive si Nico
Kabo: "Parang girlfriend mo na a!"

Honda-sensei commenting that Amiel doesn't show
emotion during kaiwa (conversation)
Amiel: "I'm just following Mira-san! (Miller-san, the
guy from the sample video) (deadpan) 'Arigatou
gozaimasu.'"

Naga words
Jamie: (to Marci) "Hindi mo ba ginagamit yung
'buray'?" (buray = female, uh, thing, in Bicolano)
Marci: "Hinde."

Lessons
Nico: "Si Ren kase yung programmer. Ako yung
technician."
Jamie: "Ako writer."
Daniel: "Ako nadapa."

The "Nadapa" issue

Ren

Amiel: "Jamie I hate your guts, ginagamit mo yung
'wearable technology.'"

Ampanget pakinggan
Amiel: "Lagi mo akong pinapasubo."

Atarashii Nihongo
"Kudasai desu ka?" (??)
"Hai, nijuusai desu." (Yes, 20 years old.)

Referring to his banana
Ren: (seryoso) "Wala kasing ulo 'to e, anliit pa.
Sanay kase ako sa mahaba."

Redundant repetition
Sir Jack: "Yung semaphores, dalawang two types yun..."

Uwi na
Jme: (nauunang maglakad) "Wag mo nga akong sundan."
biktima naglalakad yung rapist."

Bait talaga ni Amiel
Jme: "Inaantok ako."
Amiel: "Gusto mong damayan kita?"

Barot
Masuda: "Barot wa kowaii desu!!!" (Balot is scary!)
Daniel: "Iie, kawaii desu." (No, it's cute.)

Truly Quotable Quotes
Marci: "SOOmeemaaSEN."
Daniel: "SOOmeemaa - sumimasen."
Marci: "Ganito yung bago - sumimaSEN!"
Ren: "Hindi ako sensei."
Daniel: "Jargons ba yan?"
Daniel: (to Honda-sensei) "Stars o mitai desu ka?"
(You want to see stars?)
Mr. Suave: (with feelings) "Nani ga hoshii desu ka?"
Nico: "Dono buray kakarimasu ka?"
Sir Brye: "Sige na guys. Onegaishimasu."
Sir Nep: "Don't say 'jikan ga arimasen' (there's no
time) kase meron naman."
Jme: "Hindi mo kilala si Topher Grace?"
Jme: "Skwater."

Hindi quotes pero quotable pa rin
Kilay ni Marge
K2G dance
Katawan
Bongga Ka Day
Porn star-slash-stripper moves ni Mitzi

Friendster Profiling

Amiel: "Babaguhin ko na yung profile ko. 'Gwapo and
humble.'"
Lany: (in big bold letters) "I'M CUTE!!!"
Val: "BEAUTIFUL and SMART siyempre. he, he, he..."

Gusto raw ni Mitzi si Scarlett Johannsen
Kabo: "I like Scarlett Johannsen too, but probably for
different reasons."
Mitzi: "I like her but I don't wanna *do* her."
Daniel: "Wag mo naman akong paringgan."

Acronym
Minami-sensei on ADTX's new name: "AWS. Ah, Watashi wa
Sugoi." (I am amazing.)

Get your particles right
Class: "Sensei, kyou wa kirei desu ne." (You're

Amiel: "Public property kaya ako."

On the previous quotable quote
Amiel: "Kasali pa ba yon? Past twelve na a."

Better luck next time, Ren
Ren: (on 'hana'/'buray') "Yun ba yung man...? Man...?
Mangko? Ay!"

Ang over-exposed na tiyan ni Nico
Mitzi: "Laki na, ano'ng pangalan?"
Nico: (to Lany) "Anak namin."
Mitzi: "Anak ni Nico, hindi akin yan."

What are some of the effects of conflicts within
teams?
Daniel: "Nagkakaron ng conflict."

Recitation
Murakami-sensei: "Daniel-san, pick [the next
speaker]."
Daniel: "Amiel-san."

Daniel: "Chigaumasu."

Jamie: "Ikaw kaya yung nagpauso ng lahat ng sentence
may 'kaya.'"
Amiel: "Hindi." (pause) "O di ba bitin."

Akala ko ba hindi na tuloy
Jamie: "Gusto kang kausapin ni Mama, kelan mo raw ako
pananagutan."
Amiel: "Hindi nga pwede kase magpapari ako."

On the PhilNITS reviewers
Amiel: "Ang hirap i-analyze ng ganun. Hindi mo alam

Yihee
Jamie: "Kikiligin ako sobra pag naging si Amiel saka
si Marci."
Amiel: "Pano naman yung mga moments natin?"
Jamie: "Alang-alang kay Marci, ok lang."
Amiel: "Wag mo naman kalimutan."

PhilNITS Review
Ren: "Yung formula sa man-months 'Answer equals ten.'"

PhilNITS on October 1
Lany: "Pwede ba nating ipa-move yung PhilNITS?

Skwater
Jamie: "Ang skwater mo sir!"
Sir Brye: "Oo nga, skwater nga ako."

Meebo mode
Marci: (after a few seconds) "Sabi ni Sir Maui taong

Daniel: "Yes please. Can I say sorry?"

Daniel: "Hindi ba centigrade?"
Amiel: "E pareho lang yun e!"
Daniel: "Sorry, com sci lang. Pag ako nagtanong
tungkol sa mouse..."

Bagong gupit si Amiel
Jme: "Buhay pa?"
Amiel: "May anak daw sya e. Maliit pa daw."

After the grad awards

Ren's Graduation Speech

So, as I mentioned in my last post, all the trainees
had to give a speech at the graduation yesterday. In
Nihongo. This is what Ren, our batch's top 2 and
resident Nihongo expert (he already passed the
internal exam for Level 1) had to say.

P.S. Si Ren yung group leader namin ni Daniel, my
other batchmate, sa OJT project. I had to tweak his
speech a little to make it more honest. Here we go.

--------------------------------------------------

At long last, the day of our graduation has come. I am
very happy that the ACTION training has finally ended.
Even though the training is full of hardships, the
last requirement ? the OJT was the hardest.

And now, I would like to share to everyone one thing I
realized about my experience in my OJT.

Although our project didn?t went along as we had in
mind, I was able to learn a lot of things thru it. I
realized that we cannot avoid making mistakes (i.e.
having Jamie and Daniel as group mates), and it also
the fact that we (Jamie and Daniel) make mistakes that
we (Ren) were able to learn. Thru remembering the
failure (Jamie and Daniel), we can make ourselves
(Ren) become better than before. That's why we
shouldn?t be afraid of making mistakes (Jamie and
Daniel), but instead, we should accept it (them) with
optimism.

And finally, I would like to give my thanks to the
trainers, senior engineers and teachers. I also would
like to extend my thanks to my fellow trainees (except
Jamie and Daniel).

--------------------------------------------------

I dunno. I guess you have to actually know Ren to find
this speech funny. Haha.

Yatto owarimashita.

Finally, it's finished. Graduated from training today
as part of AWS Action Batch 7 - the batch, according
to one of the managers, with the best Nihongo
graduation speeches. Yeah. Checked my Friendster
horoscope:

---------------------------------------------

The Bottom Line
This is a time of extreme clarity -- what you are
sensing is completely accurate.

In Detail
New Year's isn't the only time of year appropriate for
making resolutions ... you are allowed to make a
change in your life whenever you want to. So if you
are itching to turn over a new leaf, today is a good
day to start. You shouldn't wait any longer if you
feel the urge. This is a time of extreme clarity --
what you are feeling or sensing is completely
accurate. Your worries have substance, and you should
do what you feel like you need to.

---------------------------------------------

Sakto men. Basta ang gaan talaga ng feeling. Parang
yung lahat ng pasakit ng nakaraang limang buwan...
natanggal na. I mean, alam kong it's gonna be tougher
from here on kase hindi na kami trainees and shit,
real work na, pero still... ang sarap.

I guess it's always fun to graduate. Especially if
it's on time. Haha.

Random quote.

Nathan: "Trust me, you're better off anyways. Love
sucks."
Peyton: "Nathan..."
Nathan: "No. Think about it. Dan and Karen. You and
Lucas. Me and Haley. You got it right, Peyton. People
always leave."

Hmm.

Consummatum est.

At long fucking last. Finished defending ("defend"
being the operative word) our OJT project about an
hour ago. For a panel we had to Japanese bigwigs and
three Filipino not-so-bigwigs. To cut the long story
short the defense was futile because we overlooked one
major aspect of our project. And to top it all off the
biggest bigwig (biggestwig?) of them all was I think
mocking us in Japanese. "Hontou ni shiranai? Oya!"
WTF. Is a palindrome. Lesson learned?

Hmm. Wala naman. I'll probably screw up the same way
next time around. Haha. Pero ang mahalaga yung
importante: TAPOS NA ANG TRAINING. GRAD NA KO NEXT
WEEK, WOOHOOOO!!! DULCE MALILIBRE KO NA KAYO NG F4!!!
JP MAY TOTOONG SWELDO NA 'KO, FRIENDSHIP OVER!!!
BWAHAHAHAHA Ü

Whew. Sa wakas I got that out of my system. Mitzi and
group are defending their project now. Hope they do a
better job than we did. Ang masasabi ko lang about our
project: maganda ang powerpoint namin. Hahaha.Ü

So. Plans for the future. I think I'll do a better job
at the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in December
than at the PhilNITS exam I took last October 1.
Depressing yun men. Hindi kinaya ng cramming powers
ko. After the exam theme song ko na naman yung "Beer"
for an ENTIRELY different reason. (Kase nais kong
magpakalasing... dahil bagsak ako. PAKSHET!) Kaya ikaw
IC, mag-aral ka talaga a. Ikaw ang pag-asa ko para
makapasa, lalo na sa programming part. Why I took this
fucking programmer job is beyond me.

Segue lang. Nung highschool ang pinakamababa kong
grades, sa Physics. Pero nag-ECE pa rin ako. Nung
tinanong ako sa job interview ko with the same panel
bigwigs what subject I had the most difficulty with in
college, I answered, without hesitation, that it was
programming. Pero nag-ADTX pa rin ako. Ang tanga 'ko
no. Pero ang interpretation na lang ni Kabo dun, I
liked to "challenge" myself. Magaling na 'ko sa ibang
bagay e.
Uluuul. Ewan. Ganon ata talaga ang buhay. Puro
kagaguhan.

So. Senti mode ba 'to.
Totoo. I literally feel like an old person. (Siguro
kase yung mga batchmates ko dito mga 21, 22. But
that's beside the point.)

Sigh. At least ngayon makaka-relax na 'ko. For the
meantime. Monday yung grad namin e. Inuman na 'to sa
Friday. First day of work sa Tuesday. Here we go.

Somebody wake me up.

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends

Like my fathers come to pass
Seven years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends

Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are

As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends

Ring out the bells again
Like we did when spring began
Wake me up when September ends

Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are

As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends

Like my father's come to pass
Twenty years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends

Last week pa 'to nakasulat sa spiral notebook ko.

Haven't finished introducing my batchmates at AWS Action. Sige ngayon na lang part two. Graduation na namin in around three weeks so sigruo ang olats nun pag dun ko pa sila inintroduce, di ba. Game.

Last time, I introduced Mitzi, Kabo, Ren, Nico, and Lany. Hmm. Two Ateneans, two ECE grads, and a pseudo-femme. Have a lot of common with these guys. The next batch of people I have less in common with, pero stig pa rin kasama.

Hannah (not the gf) graduated cum laude pero hindi halata, and I mean that in a good way. The girl plays DOTA for chrissakes, not in a pa-cute way mind you, as in yung complete with the jargons (as far as I know) only the DOTA boys use. Nothing I expected a cum laude would be. (Hehe. Bato-bato sa langit.Ü)

(During practice conversation)
Hannah: "Oosakajo Kouen eki de aishimashou."
Sensei: "EEHH??"

The original line was, "Oosakajo Kouen eki de aimashou," meaning, "Let's meet at Osaka Castle Park." Kaso obviously "aimashou" became "aishimashou", and they mean VERY different things. "Aishimasu" is love, for one thing. The "~shou" suffix means together. Yun na.

After the "aimashou" scandal
Lany: "Nag-aadvance reading ata si Hannah e."

Much later
Kabo: "Ano'ng chapter ba yon?"

Hahahahaha Ü ADTX urban legend in the making!

Anyway. Next si Marge. Hmm. For the first two months of training I hardly heard anything from her. Seryoso. Parang Neil nung first year. With Marge, iniisip ko talaga hindi kami interesanteng kausap kaya tahimik lang sya with Roda. Fortunately we became seatmates after one Nihongo class seat plan reshuffling, and since then I discovered, you know, Marge beyond the cute cheeks and extremely chinky eyes. Ang kulit grabe. Quotable quote machine pala amp.

Lany: "Hindi mo kilala si Topher Grace? Yung venom sa Spiderman 3."
Marge: (seryoso) "Hindi ko pa napapanood yung Spiderman 3..."

Roda comes from Ateneo de Naga.

Roda: (impersonating Ren cursing) "'Hmm... di ako sure e... putangina, ganon ba?'"

Val... is the only beauty titlist I know personally. I think she won Ms. Engineering or something from SLU. Check out her "About me" description in Friendster:

"BEAUTIFUL and SMART shempre."

Then there's Sel. SLU grad din, halimaw sa programming. I remember the exact moment we bonded. We were both waiting for the elevator to the ground floor that day, first week ng training.

Sel: "San ka punta?"
Me: (hiya pa kunyari) "Yosi break muna."

Haha.

So I guess yun na muna about my officemates for now. Got three more to introduce next time.

ANYWAY. Yung lakad nung isang isang linggo sa Makati. (Ang late na ng post ko 'no, sobrang hapit sa blogging time e.) First of all SORRY TALAGA SI MGA HINDI KO NA-TEXT/ NA-MESSAGE SA YM/ TINAWAGAN/ INE-MAIL/ SNINAIL MAIL/ SINENDAN NG TELEPATHIC MESSAGE. Naging issue pa e. TAO LANG PO! TAO LANG! OK NA? OK.

Hehe. Sayang di ka pumunta. Saya e. Psycho smile all the way. Sayana.

Pero masaya talaga, one of the few dinners I attended since training started. Sina Sweet kase kampai daw e. Saka more reason to celebrate, nun ko lang ulit nakasama si Dulce at si Grace without having to feel awkward! And torn! And awkward! A kagrabe. Priceless men. Woohoo!!! Thank you Grace, thank you Dulce!!! Basta believe me na lang when I tell you... YOU SHOULD'VE HAULED YOUR ASS TO GLORIETTA THAT NIGHT! I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAD A FAMILY THING (MIKE), IF YOU HAD ISSUES WITH THE GUEST LIST (MIKE, andun kase si ** tas wala si ****** XD), or KAILANGAN MONG MAGBANTAY NG BAHAY (si IC naman para fair.Ü) Kailangang i-enjoy natin ang company ng isa't isa habang single pa tayong lahat, at wala masyadong hasel sa buhay! Alamuyon? KAMOWN!

Besides. Namiss ko rin kayo e. Sa Friday a.Ü

Re: comments

The network admin is catching up on me. I can neither
read nor make blogspot comments anymore. The fuck. I
should just be happy I can read blogs at all, I guess.

So anyway, I will take this time to answer comments
from previous posts. Sumimasen for the late reply.

magnihonggo, marunong pang magprogram hehe :) kaso

Unfortunately. Haha. Pero in
pwede dahil gusto kong maging japayuki! Haha. Anyway
miss na kita IC. Labas ulit!

(ako double cheeseburger go big time or mc chicken pag
tipid. haha) mag do-dorm ka (how college!)? ano ba ung
XD"

Standard issue ko sa McDo, cheeseburger meal.
Carryover habit from the 208 days. Although usually I
just make do with the microwave meals at 7-11. I used
to pity the poor bastards I saw eating that crap, pero
mapagtyatyagaan naman pala. Saka yun na yung
pinakamalapit sa office e. Anyway yeah, dorm.
Pseudo-rebellious shit. Gusto ko lang lumayo sa bahay.
Joke. Gusto ko lang masubukan yung independence thing,
kahit isang buwan lang. About the condom thing,

Martin: "you sound sad."

Talaga? Huh. Pagod lang siguro. Si Martin ka ba
talaga?

Xtiane: "onga... kulang kasi sa gimik yan! all work
and no play! :p"

Aargh. I wish things were different. Kaso one month na
lang PhilNITS na e, I have to cram like crazy to be
able to pass that. Sana nga pumasa. Gimik na lang tayo
sa ATC. ;p

So yun na muna. Sweet, may date na tayo a. Martin,
galit nga pala 'ko sa 'yo. Jp, skwater ka talaga.

Before I go...

SI NEIL MAY GIRLFRIEND NA!!! WOOHOOOO!!!

La lang. ;)

bleh.

Tagal ko nang di naguupdate. Since the last post,
gumawa ako ng budget application with GUI sa Microsoft
Visual C++, ng Java application for mobile phones sa
emulator using DoJa, ng printer minidriver using
minidev as software development kit, at ngayon native
driver naman ang kakalikutin namin.

Akala mo andami kong ginawa at natutunan 'no. Hinde.
Ginawa lang namin yon. Walang guarantee na may
nag-sink in kahit konti.

Wala na nga palang ADTX. AWS na ang pangalan ng
company namin.

Next week I will start a month-long stay at Alabang.
OJT thing. More printer drivers to make there.
Wee.

Do I sound bored? I am. Sensya na. Masabi lang na
nag-post.

Oh, and I hate all the people who went to the batch
thing last Friday. Tinawagan pa talaga 'ko para
mang-inggit.

Good luck sa Sabado Knights Cagers sa next game. Cheer
lang ng cheer kahit tambakers.

Yun lang. Quotable quote before I go.

Condom?
Ren: "Wala akong dala non. Goma na lang."
Jme: "Wala raw syang dalang ganon, KY lang.
Lubricant."
Amiel: "Pang-kotse ba yun?"

There is a God.

Holy shit it works!

Haven't been posting - haven't been ABLE to post,
rather - 'cause some genius here at the office figured
out a way to block blog posting. BORED KA BA?

Anyway pwede naman pala via email. Adik amp. Kaso para
naman akong spokesperson ng Yahoo. Sige, balik trabaho muna.

Nooni noo.

Isang 'nooni noo' lang kase commercial lang 'to
between learning how to make a GUI using Visual C++.

Just finished a four-hour long mock PhilNITS exam. Mas

Brandon Routh... hmm... now you know I profess undying
crushes on just about anybody cute enough, but hmm...
he didn't pass. Christopher Reeve pa rin. And the film
itself wasn't all that. Superman lang kaya bumenta
talaga, kahit sa 'kin. Meatier script naman next time
Bryan singer, and less touchy-feely. Si Superman 'to!

(In the editor-in-chief's office, Jimmy Olsen is
showing the editor-in-chief (Perry White?) and Lois
(Luis daw sabi ni **, sino kaya yun?Ü) Lane a long
shot of Superman flying, where else but 'up in the
sky.' Everything is talking and moving fast.)

Olsen: "Look."
Editor guy: "It's a bird."
Lois: "It's a plane."

(Clark suddenly peers in through the door, and
says...): "You wanted to see me?"

Wala, bumenta sa 'kin e. Mike, hindi mo nga mage-gets
yun no. Hmm. Iba na lang QQ next time.

Xtiane, di ko sila boys! Mangareer daw ba sa trabaho,
hahaha Ü (Well actually meron nga, but it sure as hell
wasn't me.)

ANYWAY that's a whole different story. Next time.

katapusang Nihongo! At mag-program, mag-program,
mag-PROGRAM! At after 18 years of schooling, makinig
sa mga lectures! About PROGRAMMING! Sarap. Anyway I
haven't been totally lazy, blogging-wise. Pag ayokong

Been so busy with work it's crazy. A few months ago I
was mocking IC about his workaholicism, never thought
I'd end up worse. (Although technically I'm not a
workaholic, I'm just given too much stuff to do.)
Nowadays the earliest I get home is 11:00. During
breakfast at 5:00, my mom and lola berate me
alternately for coming home so late and getting so
little sleep. WTF. Do I look like I enjoy the fact
that the longest period of sleep I can afford to have
is five freaking hours? Fuck. The whole work thing
sucks balls.

Yeah. If I were a dwarf right now I'd either be Grumpy
or Sleepy.

07/14

Dati sabi ko Blog Ang Mundo. Zannen desu ga, ngayon
ADTX na.

This could have been worse, you know. When I was in
Ateneo I felt safe and happy with the company I kept.
And when
you're in college you feel like you want to be in
college forever because it's so much fun - zero
responsibilities (homework? nu yun? thesis? ANO YUN?),
cut class as you wish, drink all you can, tambay kahit
saan, kahit kailan maisipan. Kaya siguro six years ako
nasa Ateneo. But that's beside the point. My point is,
I thought the friends I made and kept throughout
college were going to be the best group of people I
could ever be with - wala nang tatalo sa f4, sa s2dio,
sa admuECEzerofive at six. Everybody else would just
be second best. And maybe they will be. But that
doesn't mean I won't enjoy myself in other people's
company.

So it would be an understatement to say that I was
relieved that the people at my office are actually a
lot like the people from college. (Hmm, actually some
of them are.)

First there's Mitzi, the batch crush ng ADTX (crush
din ng marami sa admuECEzerofive, mga palaging
nagpapabati kay Mitzi di naman pala kakilala). My
friend since freshman English class, eto yung taong I
didn't expect to share so many things in common with
me. Pareho naming nagustuhan dati si Taylor, at
favorite namin pareho ngayon ang Lifehouse. Kulet.
Mitzi: (watching me type a technical report) "Halatang
merit a!"

And there's Ryan, who, true to his blog title,
actually knows more than anybody else does in the
whole training. Ryan and I have many friends in
common, and we never backstab them. Ever. Joke. Haha.
Once in Nihongo class we had to recite (in Japanese of
course) an alternative career we would like to pursue
(or something to that effect), and he said he would
like to be a policeman along Ayala Avenue. Siguro
Chismis
Ryan: "Yung mga nagdedeny daw, yun yung totoo."
Me: "Baket, di naman ako nagdedeny a."

We're arranged alphabetically in class, and wouldn't
you know it I sit next to a Tan. Napakarami talagang
miniones ni Seven sa mundo. Ren Tan, an ECE graduate
from La Salle who has already passed JLPT Level 2 (the
rest of us just passed Level 4 today, Level 1 being
the highest.) Sugoi desu ne. Halimaw sa Nihongo at sa
programming, pero sobrang humble at unassuming. Minsan
lang humirit pero panalo. Kinda reminds me of Yuso.
(Nahihirapan si Ren buksan yung banana nya)
Ren: (in all seriousness) "Wala kasing ulo 'to e,

hito. Bibo sobra, ang ingay palagi sa klase. Masarap
makipagyabangan dito, puro katarantaduhan lang
naaatupag namin pag magkasama kami. Medyo parang si
Jp.
basketball, and he will never forgive me for it.
Nico: "Ano ba yun? M-nemonic?" (as in hiwalay yung
pag-pronounce ng M)
Me: "MNEMONIC!"

Isang
beses pinagtripan namin si Nico - yung wallpaper kase
ng phone nya picture ng love of his life. So
Hmm. Reading what I just wrote right now isn't really
funny. Sayang.
Lany: "Kudasai desu ka?"
Amiel: "Hai, nijuu sai desu."

------------------------------------------------------

Putol yung post. Balik muna 'ko sa pagpapanggap. Meet
my other officemates next time. Watch me turn
Japanese. Ki o tsukete kudasai, minasan. Ja, mata.
