Quickie update

Mabilis lang dahil patapos na ang lunch break:

- Yes, I did in fact buy an mp3 player the weekend before last at Nihombashi with Aldy, Phoebs, and Daniel. It’s black, holds 30 GB, and it’s not an iPod. It’s actually a Zen Vision: M, and Phoebs (not the bestfriend) told me it’s better than an iPod because he researches this kind of stuff on the Internet. Won a Customer’s Choice award or something. I, on the other hand, just buy them. Anyway it’s pretty cool. Already watched Peter Pan, The Lake House, Stranger than Fiction, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on it. The only time I don’t wear it is at work. Sabi ko na one day makakabili rin ako nito e. Hehe.

- Went to Shinsaibashi with the guys after buying the Zen to meet up with Steph and Harold. Took lots and lots of pictures. Got a great one of a couple standing on a bridge looking up at the full moon. Daniel wanted to get a shot of them too, but they left before he had the chance. So the two of us posed instead, and Steph took the picture. Kahit sa Japan skwater pa rin.

- Last Friday, took a night train with Aldy and met up with Phoebs, Daniel, Steph, Ren, and Bodjie at Osaka Central Station. Headed to Kyoto Station to meet up with Harold. Stayed at Mike’s apartment with Phoebs and the three of us stayed up until 3 am while the others were at Gobs’ apartment having a drinking session. Weird, di ako uminom.

- Next day, went to the JR Kyoto Station. Sobrang astig. It doesn’t look anything like a station. It has stairs and escalators that go up a hundred feet I think, and at the top you have this spectacular view of Kyoto. It also has a skyway suspended above the station where you can walk and take pictures of the Kyoto Tower across the street. Grabe astig talaga. Didn’t take as much pictures as I should have, though. Bodjie, Daniel, Ren, and Phoebs all had Canon cameras as well, but theirs were infinitely better than mine kaya nakakahiyang ilabas. Haha. After Kyoto Station, went to Gion and had a Memoirs of a Geisha moment. Gion is a temple area, and it has lanterns, artwork, and cherry trees (still bare, though) galore. Wanna go back there and see the Golden Temple. Anyway after watching a couple of jugglers do their thing, stayed at Gion til around 9 pm even though it was raining sporadically. Went back to Harold and Mike’s apartment building, and while I was going down the fire exit, slipped halfway through a flight of stairs and bounced all the way down on my ass. The only good thing about that adventure is that I was alone, and nobody saw my momentary (and by “momentary” I mean 24 years) lapse of poise.

- Sunday, Ren’s birthday! Went back to my apartment at Tsukaguchi and spent the rest of the day doing laundry. Sarap magbahay-bahayan e.

- Last night, Aldy’s and Sweet’s birthday. Happy birthday Sweet! Commercial! Anyway Aldy, Sir Jay, and me went to a yakiniku place and pigged out on grilled meat and ice cream even through it was already freezing outside. Tsalap kumain ng ice cream kahit malamig. Quotable quote muna!

Sir Jay: “San ba nakatira si Anton?”

Aldy: “Dito lang din.”

Sir Jay: “Sa Japan?”

Labo mo kase Aldy, wala naman tayo sa Maynila e. Haha XD So far I have two weekends left here in Japan. One of those I will spend in Osaka Castle Park kase… imimeet ko si Mira-san dun. Haha. Inside joke. Another weekend, probably tomorrow, will be spent going to the Kaiyukan, this supposedly awesome aquarium in Osaka. I’m halfway through my Japayuki adventure. Sad.

So. Back to work. I hope the cherry trees bloom soon.
