The Bus

Since December, Sweet and I have been touring the Makati/Ortigas districts along with a few other people (paiba-iba e, basta kumbinasyon nina Tens, Cholo, Avic, at Neil) handing out our resumes to companies who would accept them. (Pag ayaw nila nagmamakaawa kami.)

It's been a long four months, to say the least. I've spent it taking endless exams, showing up for interviews, logging so many miles in the process. May permanent ass print na 'ko sa passenger seat ni Sweet e.

So what do I have to show for those months? Some highlights:

HP - Two interviews with three managers. Supposedly you have to get interviewed three times before landing a job offer. It's been almost two months since my last interview. Nooni nooni noo.

AmKor, Safeway Philtech - Passed the exam (kahit nag-GG ako dun sa programming part ng Safeway), got interviewed once. They'll call daw pag may opening na. Ewan.

Toshiba - Passed the application form. Yun lang. And then, got the email. "We regret to inform you..." Buguummm!!! Kulang na lang sabihin nila "A-SAAAH KA DUDE!" Hahaha Ü

Solegy - One interview. Pwede na kase malapit lang sa condo nina Yumul, tas wala pang bond so I can leave pag may better offer na dumating. Kaso parang ang sama ko naman nun, haha Ü

IT Crossings - Passed the exam. Eto na talaga, with flying colors talaga. Sa sobrang taas ng scores namin nina Sweet at Neil they had to double check our tests to see if we cheated or not, 'cause apparently only 10-15% of those who take that stupid, no-brainer of an exam pass. AS IF. Mataas lang talaga ang aptitude namin. Ang malupet dun, pina-skip pa sa 'min yung Verbal Meaning part nung exam. Sabi nga ni Neil, what we were tested on just brought out my B-game, wala pa yung A-game ko dun. Buguummm na naman! Wahahaha Ü Anyway na-interview na kaming tatlo ng presidente saka VP ng kumpanya. Pwede na. Kaso they said they'd call within the week, and it's *been* a week. Bagal nina Matt at Joe.

ADTX - Passed the exam, then the initial interview. ADTX HR: "Miss Zamodio, pumasa ka sa exam/interview..." Me: "A TALAGA PO???" Gulat na gulat. Both times ko ginawa yun, wahahaha Ü Taena nag-GG ulit ako dun sa programming shit nung exam nila e. During the final interview they asked, "What sujects did you have the most problems with in college?" Without missing a beat, albeit quite sheepishly, I answered, "Programming po." Wala akong pakialam kahit Hapon yung kausap ko, basta nagpo-"po" ako. Ang punchline? Programming trainee ata yung opening nila. It's like I signed the death sentence on my own application. A basta, honesty is the best policy.

Anyway, the point of this post is, it seems that the bus I have been waiting for has arrived. MAY JOB OFFER NA 'KO. Ang tanong, tatanggapin ko ba - kase sa totoo lang, hindi na masama yung kumpanya, multinational yun saka da best daw yung makukuha kong training dun - o maghihintay pa ba 'ko ng ibang offer? Malalagyan na ba talaga ng tuldok ang aking job hunting days with Sweet, o isang pagsubok lamang ito sa aking paninindigan na I will not settle for anything less than a job offer from the company I *really* want to work for?

Pero tangina gusto ko na talagang magtrabaho e. Somehow, being 23, graduating, and still living on allowance from my mom... depresses me, to say the least. Tas pota yung NAPAKAgaling kong kaibigan, nagtext kanina sa maraming tao, expressing his desire to organize a "summer fund drive para kay jamie." eto pa yung dulo ng text nya e: "naka-send to all my rich friends toh kaya kung nakatanggap kayo ur 1 of my lucky nd rich friends.Ü" POTA JP ANONG UTAK YAN! SAKA MGA BAKLA LANG ANG NAGLALAGAY NG "H" SA DULO NG "TO"! Officially I'm offended, pero tangina natawa pa rin ako e. Skwater. And I would just like to clarify to those he texted, HINDI AKO NANGUTANG KAY JP. MUNTIK LANG. Tuwing naaalala ko yung text ni Jp napapailing ako sabay natatawa e. Anlabo. "ur 1 of my lucky nd rich friends" pa talaga e. Patay ka sa 'kin Jp pag andyan si X. Haha.

So ayun. By the way, on a totally unrelated subject MAGMAMARTSA KAMI NI LANA SA GRADUATION!!! WOOOHOOO!!! Tuloy na tuloy na, may toga na kami, called the registrar kanina, na-add na raw nila kami sa program and everything, tapusin na lang daw namin yung clearance shit. Omg. Last night nagpre-graduation reunion kami kagabi nina Neil, Martin, Mike, Xtiane, JM, Lassie, Pai, and Rusty sa Tia Maria's. Ang kulet, tawa lang kami ng tawa habang nambabackstab ng teachers at inaalala ang mga quotable quotes ng mga tao. Kulet talaga. May mga batch pictures pa kami sa Interlink e, sana ma-email na ni Mikowpal.
